Denrele Edun Life Style, His Personality, His Family And More @DENRELE_EDUN

Denrele Edun Life Style, His Personality, His Family And More @DENRELE_EDUN: There are very few people on the Nigerian entertainment scene who are as daring and as different as Denrele Edun. The Channel O TV presenter is well known for his unique style and outgoing personality. He started his career on TV at the age of 11 presenting a children’s show, Kiddie Vision 101 on NTA.
Thereafter, he delved into modeling as an undergraduate and joined Sound City as a TV presenter soon after graduating. During his five year stint with the music channel, he established himself as an eccentric and humorous presenter who is also very spontaneous. He joined Channel O in 2011 and has continued to build an impressive career reputation. He is also a well sought event host. In this exclusive interview with Bellanaija’s Adeola Adeyemo, the English Education graduate of University of Lagos talks about his personality, his style, his career, his family and much more!

If you are moody, and not ready to be playful, then you certainly can’t be around Denrele. I had assumed his spontaneity and playfulness was just for show, part of the “Denrele” brand but I was to realise that on and off camera, he was just being himself. It was hard to keep a straight face around him. He was friendly, playful I had a good laugh chatting with him.

Denrele, I’ve spent a while observing you and I realize your personality at home is not any different from what I see on camera. You’re just as lively as ever. What can you attribute your personality to?
I’m just a regular guy. I don’t take myself seriously. I’m fun, I’m lively, I’m vivacious, I’m all over the place. I wake up every morning and the first thing I do is scream. Sincerely, I’ve always been like this and I live each moment like it’s the last one. With me, what you see is what you get.

Why do you scream when you wake up every morning?
I don’t know, I just like it. I do it wherever I am; in any state, in any country. I just like looking for trouble really, especially in the middle of the night.

The “Denrele” brand
Let’s talk about your brand. Tell me about your journey into the limelight from the very beginning.
My first shot at fame was when I was really young, just a year old. I was born in Hamburg, Germany. My Dad took me for a photo shoot because I looked very exotic (I wish I was still as fine as I was then. Now I look like horror film). Some days after, he saw the same pictures of me with a baby milk product all over the place and went back to the photographer. He didn’t know he was supposed to get paid but all they gave him was a hundred cartons of milk. We came back to Nigeria later and I fell in love with music as a young boy. I always thought I was going to be an artiste. My dad had stacks of albums of artistes like Bonny M and Abba. Looking at all those album art covers, I got influenced and started to style my hair to school.

Have you been growing your hair since you were a kid?
Yes. It used to be so curly and wavy. I liked to experiment with fashion; I put a lot of stickers on my school bag, had an extra heel under my school shoes. I was in SS1 when I got my first real presence on TV at Kidivision 101. It was when I got into UNILAG that I went bunkers.

I’m very intrigued by your style. There are only a handful of people around who would dare to dress like you. What influenced your unique style?

I didn’t have too many clothes but I wanted to be different from the guy next door. I started off wearing baggy shirts and baggy jeans and because I was unsure of how to flaunt my hair, I used to hide it under a cap. At a point, people thought I was a girl hiding under guy’s clothing. But when I started modeling, I came in contact with clothes people wear on the runway but not off the runway and I was fascinated. So I went back and I started the trend of the mono-sleeve. I will cut one sleeve off my long-sleeve shirt and wear it. I cut and shred my jeans in different ways. People thought I was crazy but I stood out at every casting. I was the shortest and skinniest model but I always landed the runway jobs. All the designers saw me as flexible and dramatic so I did a lot of drama with their clothes.

Despite how unique your style is, it is not generally accepted. Some people think it’s crazy, some think it’s a bit feminine.
Fashion is all about the clothes but style is in the wearer. What I think I have done with myself is I have picked different things from different places and I’ve fused it into my look. My look is fun, it’s not serious at all but at least it’s serious enough for me to get compliments, good or bad, I really don’t care. Good publicity is good publicity, bad publicity is good publicity, no publicity at all is bad publicity.

You’ve spoken about the modeling era. Let’s talk about the VJ era. As a VJ and TV personality, what we see on you now are clothes that look really expensive.
They are expensive but I’d be very sincere, I do not spend a dime on clothes. I get a lot of freebies. The shoe collections I have are all gifts. People buy them and give me. Every item I’m wearing now are gifts from different people.

Lucky you. But really, when was the last time you bought something expensive for yourself?
I’ve only splurged once on a pair of shoes. I was in Atlanta and that was the first time I met Domenico Dolce of Dolce & Gabbana. The shoe was from the Elvis Presley collection but I got to pay half price after walking the runway with the shoes and their clothes. They gave me the clothes free.

You became really popular while working with Sound City. How did you get your job with the music channel and what was your experience like?
I graduated in 2004 and got my first job with Sound City right after in 2005. I had previously worked with Tajudeen Adepetu on Everyday People. He called me and said he wanted to set up a music channel. When I joined at first, I was the only one who didn’t have a show. So I planned and strategized for several months and I came up with the Red Carpet Show. They didn’t think it would fly but after doing three Red Carpet Shows, my name was on the lips of every brand manager, event planner, agency and consultant. I think it was hardwork that paid off at the end of the day. I worked with Sound City for five years from 2005 to late 2010.

Your exit from Sound City was followed with some media buzz. Were you sacked or you did you leave voluntarily?
It was a little of both. I heard beforehand that they thought I was overexposed for the brand and that I was going to be let off so I decided to leave before that. But I asked for all the things I felt I was being owed and I didn’t get but I just let it go. It was a very dramatic exit. Someday, maybe when I write my book, I would put everything in it. I am going to be 30 in June so I’m thinking of releasing my book then. I’m really going to chronicle what happened. Nobody should be scared about anything but I think a lot of people deserve to know what really happened.

I didn’t know you were a writer.
My mode of writing reflects my personality. When you read it you’d know this is Denrele writing. I used to write a couple of articles for The Future, now Y Magazine and when we had Sound City Blast Magazine, I was the head writer.

How soon did the Channel O job come after you left Sound City?

It came in May 2011.

You have a bigger platform now at Channel O, but you still do similar things as what you used to do with Sound City.
Because Channel O understands what brand expansion is all about. I’m very spontaneous when it comes to the red carpet. The red carpet as they say is a place where stars are born and sometimes buried. I feel the red carpet is one place I can express myself to the max. It gives me the opportunity to say what I want to say without giving a hoot.

As someone who has interviewed a lot of celebrities on the red carpet, tell me about some of your favourites who never disappoint with their outfits and composure.
I love this question! There are people I look forward to seeing on the red carpet and some who I have to force answers out of them but I usually know what to say to make them loosen up. One person I look forward to interviewing all the time is Stephanie Linus. She pushes the envelope. I call her style casual sophistication. We chat and we laugh and we tease each other. Ramsey Nouah is also someone I always look forward to seeing on the red carpet. There is one side to him people don’t really know which I’ve been able to discover. He is a comedian! D’Banj is also very spontaneous. We’d look for something around us and start cracking jokes with it.

Give me more female names…
I love interviewing Goldie not because she’s my friend, but because you always look out for what she’ll wear on the red carpet. Helen Prest Ajayi is so graceful but I make her do one or two crazy things once in a while. One person who always makes me feel happy is Remi Tinubu. After every interview, Remi would send her entourage to call me and she would give me an envelope. I will quickly put it in my pocket and when my producer asks me, What was she telling you? I’d say, Ah, she was shaking my hand telling me well done.

What is the craziest thing you’ve asked someone to do on the red carpet?
There was someone who showed me her underwear on the red carpet, I can’t remember her name. I said “everybody has told me you are not wearing underwear but you need to prove it to me”. She showed me her bra and then she lifted the hem of her skirt and showed me her underwear. Clean, sparking, Victoria Secret!

A few weeks ago, Karen Igho was allegedly slapped at an event by a mobile policeman. It was reported she attended that event to support you. What really happened there?
I’m not going to deny that, I was the one who invited her. During the show, she came backstage to meet me and said “Denrele when are you bringing me on stage?” I said “Soon, you must come and do small craze for me”. That was the last conversation we had before the incident. I think she wanted to go to her car to touch up. I was even looking for her and when I didn’t see her, I had to introduce the last act for the night. Later my cousin who was with her when it happened ran to call us. Everybody was livid with rage including the Smirnoff officials and security guards. I had to calm her down and got someone to take her home. She was really distraught. By the next day, it was all over social media and people kept asking me what I did about it.

I have to ask too. What did you do about it?
I’m not going to go into details on what I did but I did make a lot of calls and the person who committed the act has been called to order. They have fished out the person. Smirnoff and the agency handling security for them are looking into it.

On a lighter note, your relationship status and sexuality has been a hot topic on some media platforms with some alleging that you’re gay…

I am very single, I’m searching and ready to mingle. A lot of people brought up that sexuality issue. When you are in this industry, people tend to look for loopholes. I am just a sexual outlaw, very adventurous. People have judged from my dressing and my effeminate nature.

How would you describe your ideal woman?
I love heels on a woman, that is why I have a thing for models. I’ve dated a lot of models. I love to see women strut in heels. I love women who can strike up a very good conversation. I like someone I can go to the salon with and we are washing our hair together and she is not freaking out or saying what her friends are thinking of the fact that I’m under a dryer. I love a woman who has a good sense of style and not somebody who would try to change me. And also a woman who would not be threatened by the female friends that I have because I have loads of female friends.

I’m curious. Would you cut your hair if you were paid to do it?

Ah, I would cut it oh! Bring money.

Give me a figure.
I haven’t really thought about a figure but I would cut it for as low as N5million. The hair would grow back.

You have long and soft hair. Who do you take after?
My Mum, her hair is so long. Her Dad is Indian and her Mum is from Mauritius. My Dad is a Yoruba man from Abeokuta. So I am even nationality confused, I don’t know where I’m from.

You must have very supportive parents who allowed you express yourself while growing up.
My parents are amazing people. Family is the best gift anyone can have. I remember when people used to attack my Dad in church about me and my crazy style, we would laugh about it. I haven’t seen my Mum in 12 years because she is not in the country. She travelled to Dublin when things got really tough at some point. My Dad lost his job and my Mum had to take up about four jobs. We were staying in the family house so there were conflicts everyday.

12 years is a long time. Are you going to see her soon?
I am going to see her early this year. We’ve been in touch, she calls everyday, she has even called this morning. I have an amazing family. They allowed me express my individuality.

Amaka Anioji - Dating Married Men Can Be Juicy

Amaka Anioji - Dating Married Men Can Be Juicy: Despite her nine years staunt in the industry, Amaka Anioji cannot be described as a popular face in Nollywood mainly because of her inconsistency.

But last year, she took many by surprise when she won the Most Outstanding Actress award at the 9th edition of the Abuja international film festival, beating established actresses like Ini Edo, Funke Akindele, Nse Etim-Ikpe, Uche Jombo among others.

In this interview, she speaks on a number of issues concerning her personal life, career and her role in the award winning short film, “ Till Death Do Us Part” which shot her into the limelight.

What is the big deal about the movie,’Till Death Do Us Part’?

It is a 15-minute film that was nominated for an award.

Role played in the movie.

I was the female lead. I played the role of a woman who was beaten and battered by her husband.

Is this the first movie you are playing lead?

No, this is not the first movie I played the lead character. I have played lead in several movies such as ‘Young Heritage’, and ‘Broken’ that will soon be released. I also played lead in ‘Married,in ‘Close Friends, Game Player in ‘Tinsel’.

When did you join the industry?

I joined the industry in 2004, but I later disappeared and reappeared in 2006, when I landed a role in a new movie. I finally returned in 2010 and since then, I have been consistent.

Among all the films you have featured in, which do you consider most challenging?

I think the most challenging is, ‘Till Death Do us Part’ because it is a short feature film.I have to go through many emotions at the same time. It was really a lot of work for me. I think it is very challenging as well as exciting such that people talked about it.

Did your acting as a battered wife affects your attitude towards life ?

It has nothing to do with my true life situation, after all, I am not married yet. And I have been lucky with my relationships. I think what happened in the movie was what the script spoke to me. When I was called by the director, Tope Ogun, who once directed me on the set of Tinsel.

She called me and said ‘Amaka, I want you to play the lead role in the movie. I used to be crazy about her as a director before she got married.Later, she sent the script and asked me to go through it and tell her what I think about it. But while reading through the script, I started crying because, it was really emotional. However, after going through teh script, I informed that I would be interested to be part of the movie.

What is outstanding about you?

I think understanding the role I am going to play at any point in time is the secret behind that. Because every story and role is very unique and being able to understand those differences is what I feel is outstanding. Because when I was playing a Doctor in Tinsel is different from when I played a battered wife.

The same thing was applicable to the much loved wife as Allen in Married. As a matter of fact, I have some respects for the roles I played in movies because I see them as individuals. I tried to understand them, who they are and what they are really about. I take my time to communicate to myself.

After acting a particular role, it will take some people days to get off the character, does it happen to you?

Yes, of course, it happened to me in ‘’Till Death Do Us Part.’ That’s why I said it was very challenging. When we were shooting the movie, the atmosphere was very moody. So, after a period of time, I was so frustrated, feeling so much like the role I played in the movie.

After sometime, I sat on a place and I couldn’t talk to anybody. I was crying. Even when I was not crying, tears were still running down my cheeks. I was really feeling that bad. Just like when you have to play the happy role, you will be happy throughout.

Did you work on your b**bs?

No I didn’t. I have natural nice breasts. And when it goes down with age, I will let it go like that. I am not going to work on anything. I will age gracefully. So, I do not have problem with that.

What about your hair?

I actually wear a bright hair style. I can experiment on my hair because I like doing that.

So who is the man?

Let us not talk about the man. He is not interested in this talk. Let us just leave the man out of this. I cannot have my relationship on the pages of newspaper, it is so annoying. I lost a relationship that means a lot to me some couple of years ago. We misunderstood ourselves and we went so far as if there was no room for reconciliation.

After sometime, I sat down and pondered over what happened between us and discovered that it was something we could have settled amicably. Really, that relationship meant a lot to me. Each time, I remember how compatible we were then, I feel bad. I still miss my ex… But that’s is a forgone issue, I still count myself as being lucky because life has to go on.

Can you date a married man?

Well, it is frustrating. It can be tempting sometimes when you meet married men who are really very charming especially, when you have dated a single guy who is very annoying. You run into a married man who is good looking and experienced, you would be tempted to fall in love with him.

But for me, I will always think of how dating a married man will affect people’s perception about me. After all, I am not going to marry the person but I’m more concerned about what people are going to say. I also considered how that thing will affect my relationship with God. Though it can be very juicy, I consider all that. I like to work and earn my living, it gives me joy.

Would you do a toy boy?

I wouldn’t. I cannot have a toy boy. But I will have a valued friend.

There are so many people in Nollywood who sleep their ways to the top, what do you have to say about that?

I don’t have much to say about that because it is common everywhere, people sleeping their way to get what they want. They sleep their way to become Executive Assistants and Managing Directors of blue chip companies. It is not only in Nollywood that such things happen.

King Sunny Ade’s ex-guitarist, Fatoke Caught with Cocaine

King Sunny Ade’s ex-guitarist, Fatoke Caught with Cocaine: Fatoke Abiodun, Nigeria’s veteran guitarist, who played alongside legendary musician, King Sunny Ade for three decades, has been arrested with cocaine by the NDLEA, the anti-drug agency said on Saturday.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, said that Abiodun was arrested on 1 January while attempting to board an Air France flight to Italy at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

“We have made the first arrest in the new year. The suspect, a guitarist by name Fatoke Abiodun was found with 1.575kg of cocaine. The drug was discovered in the false bottom of his luggage during the outward screening of passengers to Italy,” said ,NDLEA Commander the Lagos Airport, Mr Hamza Umar

The agency said the 62-year old grandfather with four wives and many children, is helping narcotic investigators handling the case.

“Fatoke has owned up to the alleged crime blaming his involvement on financial hardship,” said the agency’s spokesperson, Mitchell Ofoyeju.

NDLEA quoted Fatoke as saying: “I played for King Sunny Ade for 30 years before I was unceremoniously retired in 2007. I was unprepared and without severance money I saw the bitter side of life.”

He said his drug trafficking attempt is his first as he did it out of frustration.

“Because at my age I could not provide for my family. I am ashamed of myself,” he was quoted as saying.

NDLEA Chairman, Ahmadu Giade described the involvement of Fatoke in drug trafficking as sad and disappointing.

“It is sad and disappointing for a grandfather to be involved in drug trafficking. This is a bad legacy to his children. This is a good start for the agency in the year and a sign that the days ahead will be tough for drug traffickers. The agency will continue to handle every case in accordance with the NDLEA Act,” Giade was quoted as saying.

The suspect will be charged to court for unlawful exportation and possession of narcotics, NDLEA said.

Iyanya Accused Of Fraud

Iyanya Accused Of Fraud: Opa Williams, show promoter and organizer of the popular show, Nite of a Thousand Laughs has accused the Kukere master, Iyanya of breach of contract for receiving payment to perform at a scheduled event then failing to show up.
Williams was said to have reported the case to the police in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

There are unconfirmed reports that Iyanya’s manager, Ubi-Franklin Ekpong, is currently under arrest at Mile 3 Police Division, in Port Harcourt.

When contacted to comment on the matter, Iyanya dismissed the report that he is wanted by the police.

“Don’t mind them, I am in Abuja,” he said.

Williams is accusing Iyanya of collecting N1.7m to perform at Nite Of A Thousand Laughs in Benin, Edo, and Port Harcourt, Rivers State a few days ago but refused to show up. According to him, all efforts to get through to the artiste proved abortive as his phone was reportedly switched off.

“He has caused me a lot of embarrassment, as people who paid to come and watch him went home disappointed. For 17 years, we have been organizing Nite of A Thousand Laughs and we have built a large followership, I will not allow anybody to destroy the credibility we have as people who deliver on their promises. That’ why we are going to pursue this case (legally) to a logical conclusion and ensure this is the last time Iyanya would do this to anybody,” Williams stated.

“When Iyanya failed to show up at Benin edition, which held on December 26, he called to apologise, promising however to make it up with the Port-Harcourt and Bonny shows. But again, he did not keep to his word,” Williams added.

It was gathered that Iyanya shunned Opa Williams’ event, but performed earlier at another show which held the same day in Port-Harcourt and featured Timaya.

However, Williams’ media Company, Media Image Managers, said, “We are aware of the issue between Opa Williams and hip hop act, Iyanya. The parties are at the moment at Mile 3 Police Division in Port Harcourt. Our client has informed us he is seeking redress in court. However, there are moves to resolve the matter amicably. It is sad that Iyanya would behave in such an unprofessional manner, but then, the police are handling the matter well.”

We shall be watching to see how this ‘case’ gets resolved.

"I Was Offered N5 Million To Sleep With Another Woman's Husband"

"I Was Offered N5 Million To Sleep With Another Woman's Husband": ‘I want you to seduce my husband’ she said

I choked on the glass of juice I was drinking.

Mrs Ali is in her forties, and she’s been married to one of the wealthiest men in the country for 14 years.

She’s not pretty, but not ugly either. Very well groomed and classy, a fit size 12 and mother of two.

‘Ma?’ I said.

She said ‘I will pay you well. I’m not happy. He’s a good husband but I don’t feel anything for him. I need an excuse to leave him.’

For once in my life, I actually didn’t know what to say.

‘I will pay you N5M, I can give u N1M advance now’ she said as she looked into my eyes.

‘Can I think about it?’ I asked

‘You have 24 hours’ she said.

‘Why always me?’ I thought as I drove out of her mansion on Banana Island. ‘How do I get myself into such situations?’

Let me first explain how I know her. Six months ago, I quit my boring office job and started various businesses. I’m into oil and gas. I find buyers for diesel and I make good money. I also sell jewellery to wealthy women. Gold and diamonds mostly. One of my Dubai (ex) lovers introduced me to the business, and it’s been good, I definitely can’t work for anyone ever again.

The wealthy ladies are an interesting and entertaining bunch. Some married, some single. They all loved my jewellery and wanted to be the best dressed at all times. I had to use common sense, charm and flattery to make sure everyone was happy.

Mrs Ali was one of my best customers. She never owed and was very pleasant. We were fast developing an older sister/younger sister relationship. Well, at least that’s what I thought.

I have been involved with many married men before. Some for money and some for fun, but this was different.

I have never been approached by a wife to sleep with her husband.

She said ‘It should be easy. You are his type: slim on top with big hips and bum….’

She seemed to have everything planned. I would pose as a bank marketer trying to get him to put money in my bank and offer to sleep with him in exchange. When we got to it, she would burst in and pretend to be devastated and outraged. The next day, she would move out with the kids.

I couldn’t sleep that night. I tossed and turned. 5M is a lot of money to be paid for just seducing someone.

At 8am the next day I called her and said ‘Good morning Ma, make it 10M, pay through bank transfer upfront and I’ll do it’.

She said ‘Done!’ And hung up.

What would you do if you were me?

Twins Arrested After Fighting Over Who'd Have Sex With Shared GirlFriend: Two Manchester, Conn., twins figured it isn’t enough for them to share the same genes; they have to share the same girlfriend, too. But the arrangement got violent on New Year’s Eve, according to the Hartford Currant reports.

Aric Ryan Hale and Sean Peter Hale, both 28, were arrested after fighting over who would have sex with their shared 27-year-old girlfriend. The woman is reportedly in an open relationship with the twins and is sexually intimate with both of them “depending on who she chooses to be with that particular day,” police spokesman Capt. Christopher Davis said.

Both men were with the woman at a local hotel when Sean asked his brother to leave the room so that he could have sex with their girlfriend. Aric refused and the twins began throwing punches at each other and destroying the room. They were later arrested at an Ellington residence.

Aric was slapped with two counts each of third-degree assault and disorderly conduct and one count of third-degree criminal mischief. His brother was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of third-degree criminal mischief.

They both posted $10,000 bail and are scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Feb. 7.

See What Chinese Explorers Found Under Nigerian Waters

See What Chinese Explorers Found Under Nigerian Waters: Chinese scientific research ship Dayang Yihao, or Ocean One, has returned to east China harbour, almost four months after it completed a nine-day exploration of Nigeria’s waters with Nigerian and Chinese scientists.
The research team, with 15 Nigerians and 66 Chinese crew conducted research mainly on the western part of Nigerian waters, Captain Cao Yezheng.

Back in China, the team has flaunted some of the things found under Nigeria’s water.

Among them a rare crab specie and undersea rock, shown above.

It was the first time for a Chinese research team to lead an operation in an African country’s exclusive economic zone.

“It is a groundbreaking voyage in terms of boosting marine cooperation between the two countries,” said Li Bo, an official with the China Ocean Mineral Resources R&D Association, organizer of the expedition.

The mission will help both sides better understand the underwater landscape and fishery conditions in the area, Captain Cao Yezheng said.

The expedition started in April. After setting sail from Sanya in south China’s Hainan province, the ship sailed 38,000 nautical miles through the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Guinea.

The 245-day voyage allowed researchers to study biological diversity in hydrothermal areas in the Atlantic Ocean for the first time, which will provide valuable information for future biological and geological studies, chief expedition scientist Tao Chunhui said.

The Ocean One is China’s only open-ocean vessel designated and equipped for deep sea research.

“We were able to understand the water chemistry, understand the sea channel, the fishery condition and some other areas that needed to be touched,” Cao had said at a brief reception in Lagos, attended by Dr. Liu Xianfa, consul general of China in Lagos.

Also speaking, Emmanuel A. Ajao, the acting executive director of Nigerian Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR) said the successful scientific joint research program will benefit both of the two countries and the world.

An Open Letter To Tonto Dikeh From An Igbo Man

Dear Tonto Dikeh,

I know you feel beautiful this morning! Well, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. For me, you are nowhere near ‘beautiful’. You are just there. But before I tell you what I really want to tell you, I need to tell you something. There is a lady called Adele. She is a singer. She sings. I need to explain what a singer means, because I understand that you have no brain at all. Because I hate sugar-coating, I am hated by a lot of people. You are just like me too. I will understand when people hate you, but, seriously, if you think Igbo men are nosy, then, you are right. That is your opinion and you must protect it.

I am an Igbo man. I will defend myself right now. Back to Adele. I will tell you everything about this young lady who transformed herself into something very beautiful in the eyes of men. I also understand that you don’t know her, but it won’t hurt if I tell you about her now. This is what TIME magazine wrote about her few days ago: “As talented and appealing as she is, few could foresee how utterly dominant Adele would be in 2011: in an era where even the highest-tier musical acts can struggle to move records, her sophomore effort, 21, sold 17 million copies worldwide and spent 16 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, the longest for any record since 1998's Titanic sound track. Combined with sales of her previous album, 19, Adele has topped the U.K. charts for 21 weeks — a feat matched only by the bands Oasis and Queen.” Tonto nne m, Adele is 23. You are older. She is not worried about her future. You are. She is focused about her music.

You are worried that no Igbo man will marry you after you’ve created yourself into a bamboo stick. Truth is that I don’t know you personally, but you’ve created a strong mystery around yourself. People see you as a soul from hell. They say you’ve sold your soul to the devil. Me, I don’t know where the devil lives, but I think you have. You even went ahead to show us tattoos at your back. I just didn’t understand why you did that. As an Igbo man, I will never marry a woman who has shown the entire world ‘my tattoos.’ It is not good. I am an Igbo man, so I will need to know who snapped the picture. Maybe, your secret boyfriend? This is the reason why we are bad, abi? Adele doesn’t go around seeking attention. She doesn’t pay anyone to publish pictures of her tattoos. Who knows? She may just have a lot of them. I haven’t seen them. I have seen yours.

There is nothing wrong in you tattooing your entire body, but what is my business with that? Are you not supposed to be an actress? Of course, I understand that you appear in pornographic films now? That is good. At least, you are doing what you know best. But to pick on Igbo men? This is very unacceptable. You insulted a lot of us. This simply shows how unintelligent you are towards anthropology. Men are the same all over the world. Igbo man, Yoruba man, Hausa man. We all treat women in similar ways. We love unconditionally. And we all become nosy when our women start acting like you. If your father is an Igbo man, dearest Tonto Dikeh, you are a monkey. But I will be sorry if you didn’t say that. I only rely on the media, since I don’t know you personally. If you didn’t say it, Tonto, I am very sorry. I will publicly apologise. Yet, I believe you did, because you do so many things after marijuana. If it’s not good for your brain, stop smoking. Listen to Adele’s Someone Like You and you will feel good.

I don’t look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Onyeka Nwelue

Lanre Teriba A Gospel Singer Fathers 5 Kids From Different Ladies

Lanre Teriba A Gospel Singer Fathers 5 Kids From Different Ladies: When the Holy Bible asserted that in the last days, many will come out claiming to be servants of God while going about deceiving people, many do not really grasp the import of that message.

But what can one make of a situation where a so called Gospel artiste would stoop so low as to sleeping with any lady that caught his fancy, to the extent of putting them in a family way?

This is the story currently making the rounds within the hallowed world of Gospel singer, Lanre Teriba popularly known as Atorise. It is about the unknown social acts of this handsome musician.

His love for unsafe sex is well-known by his fans, especially female ones, who always crave for his attention, regardless of the sexual attachment that comes with it.

Lanre Teriba is widely known as a cheerful giver and find practicing safe sex uninteresting.

As at the last count, the highly revered musician is alleged to be fathering five kids from different women. Findings revealed that he fathered these kids yet he'e is not taking good care of them. He often abandons the kids and their mothers to their own fate.

Despite all these, he does not have a wife that he’s legally married to in his home. According to other source, the withdrawal of his Evangelist title is as a result of the immoral acts displayed by the singer.

Mr. Collins Nweke Nigerian Man Sworn In As Councillor In Belgium

Collins Nweke Nigerian Man Sworn In As Councillor In Belgium: Nigerian-born Collins Nweke, a 46 yr old Nigerian was on Friday sworn in as Councillor of West- Flanders Constituency in Belgium.
Mr. Nweke, a member of the Belgian Green Party, was re-elected last year having made history in 2006 when he became the first non-Belgian born politician to win an elective position in West-Flanders.

With his re-election, Mr. Nweke’s mandate includes issues bordering on the economy, social policy, international development and minority priority.

The councilor described the last several years to him as a learning curve where some important results were equally achieved.

“I will continue to have my eyes on the ball as far as social policy is concerned, but with an expanded portfolio that includes the economy and international development.

“Small and medium enterprises are the engine of the local economy and a business-friendly environment will not only keep existing businesses in good shape but will attract new investments and create jobs.

“A number of good initiatives are ongoing and obviously these would be continued and enhanced.

“It will also make sense to re-evaluate some economic activities that are liabilities to the local economy,” he told the News Agency of Nigeria’s Western Europe Correspondent.

Mr. Nweke, who spoke on international development, said the challenges of global meltdown were insurmountable.

“I think that the relationship between the western economies and the emerging ones has for too long been based on the wrong premise. He said that partnership, rather than charity, should be the bed-spring on which the larger part of the relationship rests.

“The economies of the west are showing signs of saturation, while there are huge developmental potential in the emerging economies. So let’s build a relationship of mutual benefits,” he said.

Mr. Nweke, 46, migrated to Belgium in 1993. He is currently the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora, NIDO, Europe.

Celebrity New Year Resolution As Eminem Becomes A Born Again Christian

Celebrity New Year Resolution As Eminem Becomes A Born Again Christian: A source from the rapper's hometown of Detroit claims to have witnessed Eminem's transformation firsthand through some of his recent actions, according to AllHipHop.com.

He stated that Eminem has been going through many changes as of late and has removed himself "from the depths of the music industry," and has also refused to conform to what is expected from him in the business.

Eminem, known for his shock value lyrics as well as his vivid storytelling and superior lyrical capabilities confessed to being a Christian on a song on his first album Infinite, which was released before his major label debut The Slim Shady LP.

"But in the midst of this insanity, I've found my Christianity through God and there's a wish he granted me," raps Eminem on "It's Ok." "He showed me how to cope with this stress and hope for the best, instead of moping depressed."

After penning these lyrics, Eminem went on to become an international superstar in the music world, selling millions of albums. The content in his music also continuously changed along the way as he began rapping as his alter ego Slim Shady who could be a serial killer one day and a drug addict the next.

During his career, Eminem has also penned inspirational hits such as "Lose Yourself" and "Not Afraid" that were closer to "It's Ok" in terms of positive content.

The rapper has admitted in interviews that he prays on a somewhat regular basis, but still releases music laced with profanity and sexually explicit lyrics.

Many hip-hop artists claim to be Christians and still put out music that is offensive to many believers.

Eminem's recent spiritual transformation is still unconfirmed at this time.
