United State Moves Troops To Libya Over Killed Diplomats

United State Moves Troops To Libya Over Killed Diplomats: A team of specially trained U.S. Marines has been dispatched to Libya to beef up security by dispatching a Marine fleet to boost security at the country’s consulate in Benghazi, Libya, where an armed group linked to Al Qaeda struck yesterday killing four US diplomats including Ambassador Chris Stephens.

A Marine fleet anti-terrorist security team is being sent to the city, Reuters news agency quoted a U.S. official who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

According to sources at the Pentagon, the team is known as a Fleet Anti-terrorism Support Team, or FAST team, and includes about 50 Marines trained in crisis response operations. Such teams were previously dispatched to Liberia in 2003 and Haiti in 2004 when conflicts in those nations threatened U.S. citizens.

“FAST teams are stationed all over the world,” a defense official said. “Their sole mission is to be in a high state of readiness for situations like these.”

A visibly angry, President Barack Obama vowed to bring justice to the attackers, calling the killings “outrageous and shocking.”

“Make no mistake, we will work with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers who attacked our people.
