Thief Stripped, Beaten And Stoned, For Killing A Man To Steal His Cellphone: Two weeks ago a heartless thief shot and killed a man simply because he wanted his cellphone.

But when the people found out who the thief was, they showed him no mercy either.He was stripped naked, thrashed and stoned by the a mob. If the police had not intervened, the man would have been dead.

The thug was caught while trying to rob another man in London Section, Alexandra, Johannesburg. The victim managed to call for help, drawing the attention of people around him. They caught the suspect and found the dead man's phone on him.

Realizing that his life was in danger, the thief aged about 30, managed to run away but he didn't get far. People's Justice took over.

Witnesses said the angry mob first ripped off his clothes. He was allowed no modesty, and while some people whipped him with sticks others started stoning him. Apparently he denied robbing and killing the dead man and that angered the residents further.

"Angry people were baying for his blood. They were going to kill him. If the cops hadn't arrived they would have killed him. It appears that a resident phoned the cops and they arrived just in time to load the naked man on the back of a police vehicle and drive away with him," said a witness.

Alexandra police spokesman, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said there was no case of assault on record. The man murdered a fortnight before was buried in Port Elizabeth over the weekend.

A Nigerian Gospel Singer Who Poses As Pilot To Defraud Women Of $125,000: A gospel singer who pretended to be an American fighter pilot, an oil executive and widower to con women out of more than £120,000 has been jailed today.

Oluwamayola Ajayi, 31, of Sherman Gardens, Chadwell Heath, used dating website Match.com to ensnare four women using different names and identities.

In one case he sent email threats, purportedly from a captor, saying he had been kidnapped and demanding a ransom.

Ajayi was convicted of conspiracy to defraud after a trial and faces sentence later this week.

Snaresbrook Crown Court heard how Ajayi, who was nominated best international act at the 2011 Gospel Music Awards, gained the women’s trust before persuading them to hand over their savings to fund business enterprises

He insisted the cash would be repaid.

His victims, who all live in America and Canada, were “completely taken in” by his elaborate lies.

They were left humiliated and some were financially ruined by the scam, which ran between November 2009 and August 2010.

One victim handed over more than $125,000 (£78,662) from her late husband’s life savings and dead mother’s estate, which she had earmarked for retirement.

Another disabled woman from Nova Scotia was duped into giving Ajayi almost $38,000 (£23,913) after he pretended to be Travis David McFly, a United States Airforce pilot serving in Iraq.

Ajayi, who was arrested last August at the home he shares with his wife, denied conspiracy to defraud, fraud, concealing criminal property, using criminal property and two counts of possessing articles for use in frauds.

He was unanimously convicted by a jury on all counts after the trial after admitting a single count of possessing a false identity document with intent.

Adjourning sentence, Judge Sarah Paneth told Ajayi he was facing a ‘lengthy’ prison term.

Woman Bites Off Another Woman’s Nipple In Abuja: A 28-year-old woman, Anastasia Uche of Kurudu, Abuja has been charged before the Karu Magistrate court, Abuja for biting off a fellow woman’s nipples during an argument, Nigeria’s News Agency has reported.

The police prosecutor, Cpl. Pascal Njoku, told the court that Anastasia bit Hauwa Musa on the right breast and severed the nipple, thereby causing grievous hurt to Hauwa.

According to Njoku, the offence contravened Section 241 of the Penal Code.

The accused pleaded not guilty and her counsel, Mr Michael Ejeh, applied for bail for her.

Magistrate Christopher Oba advised both the complainant and the accused to resolve the matter amicably, saying: “Nobody benefits from trouble.’’

“I will advise that both parties in this matter should sit down and explore the possibility of resolving this matter,’’ he said.

Before adjourning the case till November 21 for hearing if both parties fail to resolve the matter, the magistrate granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50,000 and a surety in like sum.

“The surety must have a reasonable means of livelihood and a traceable address within the jurisdiction of this court,’’ he ruled.

Twisted Yasmine, 19, and Whitney Notice, 20, lured the man back to their flat after meeting him over social media.

After plying the 22-year-old victim with cider, they threatened him with a fake handgun, forced him to strip and demanded he perform sex acts.

Police were alerted to an image the day after and specialists from the Public Protection Unit were able to track the images to Yasmine’s phone.

Birmingham Crown Court heard how the pair sexually humiliated him purely for their own wicked amusement.

Yasmine was sentenced to seven years and two months behind bars, while Whitney was jailed for five years and four months.

Detective Constable Emma Fennon said: “They targeted the man with the express intention of humiliating him for their own pleasure. They even recorded the abuse and boasted about their actions to friends.

“In the video the man, who is a vulnerable adult, can be seen cowering, fearing for his life, whilst the girls are heard laughing in the background.

“We believe this may not have been the first time they have carried out such abuse as other images discovered on their phones suggest there could be more victims.

“If anyone has suffered such abuse they should report it to police.The matter will be dealt with sensitively by officers specially trained to support victims.”

Both sisters admitted assault, false imprisonment, and causing a person to engage in sexual activity on February 3 this year.

Whitney also pleaded guilty to possessing an imitation firearm. The sisters were ordered to register as sex offenders for life.

I am discharged from hospital now, but I think am just followed by too many bad things. Can you imagine that even the doctor at the hospital trying to seduce me?

Aishat Maksudova Fights Wolf With Bare Hands: A Granny from a village in southern Russia fought off a wolf with her bare hands and killed it with an axe. 

Aishat Maksudova, from Novo Biryuzyak village in the Dagestan region, was in a group of villagers herding cows and sheep. 

The 56-year-old heard the cry of a calf being attacked and rushed to scare off the wolf but it turned on her. 

"I was not even frightened. I stood like this, holding an axe like this. And the wolf, with an open mouth suddenly jumped on me. Jumped like that. The wolf clawed at my leg and I wanted to hit him with the axe," Ms Maksudova said. 

In a reversal of the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale where a granddaughter saves her grandmother from being eaten by a wolf, this Russian grandmother took fate in her own hands. 

"When I raised my arm up like this, the wolf was just holding my hand. Trying to claw my hand. I wanted to open his mouth and put my fist all the way there, all the way to his throat. But I could not open him. 

"So I just left my hand, and the wolf was just clawing into it, pulling on it, pulling away like this. And then I took the axe and hit him on his head," she said. 

Ms Maksudova needed hospital treatment after being bitten. 

Her fellow villagers have vowed to hunt down other wolves in the area.

Man Fatally Strikes Brother's Wife With An Axe For Refusing To Make Love With Him: The man, 23-year-old Peter Chaminga of Farm 268, Nyazvidzi Communal Lands, is said to have accosted his sister-in-law asking her to be intimate with him since her husband had been away in South Africa for a lengthy period.

The sister-in-law, Raviro Sherekete, who was at home at Farm 267 with her 8-year-old son, spurned Chaminga's advances reminding him that they were related through her marriage to his elder blood brother.

This infuriated Chaminga who then allegedly grabbed an axe and charged Sherekete while scolding her for spurning his advances.

He allegedly struck Sherekete in the head five times with the axe until she collapsed in a pool of blood before locking himself in a kitchen hut while neighbours who had rushed to the scene took her to Murambinda District Hospital.

Her condition was deemed critical and she was transferred to Mutare General Hospital where she died the following day. Chaminga handed himself to the police in Gutu.

Masvingo police spokesperson Inspector Peter Zhanero confirmed the incident yesterday, saying Chaminga was expected in court soon.

"We have arrested the suspect who killed his brother's wife after she had refused to give in to his demands for the two to be intimate. The suspect is in custody assisting us with investigations and he will appear in court soon facing murder charges," Insp Zhanero said.

Femi Fani Kayode Labels Obama As Anti-Christ: The American Presidential election will take place in a few days time and frankly some questions still need to be answered. I wish that Governor Mitt Romney had put one of those questions particularly to President Barrack Hussein Obama during their last Presidential debate which was on foreign policy. Permit me to put that question here and it is as follows.

Why did the President bow so low before Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah four years ago during his first state visit to the Arab Gulf state and why did he feel the need to almost touch his toes with his forehead when he did so.

It is a matter of historical record that no American President in the last 200 years has ever bowed so low before any foreign leader, Prime Minister, Head of State, President or monarch. It appears to me to be rather strange that Obama, on his first trip to the Middle East as President of the most powerful country on the planet, should literally prostrate before an Arab King whose country has an abominable record on human rights, civil liberties, the rights of women and religious minorities and where the system of government is a totalitarian and absolute monarchy. Luckily a picture was taken of that celebrated event and that picture really does tell us something about the American President's mindset. Yet it does not stop there.


On that same trip four years ago, after leaving Saudi Arabia, Obama toured the greater part of the Middle East and Egypt and in speech after speech he apologised to the Arabs for American policy in the Middle East over the previous 50 years. He did this despite the fact that in most of those countries christians,shia muslims and ethnic minorities have no rights at all and even though they have been killed, persecuted and supressed for many decades. Again he did this even though none of those countries were democracies and even though all of them, except for two, have refused to acknowledge the right of the Jewish State of Israel to even exist.This left a bad taste in the mouth of many at the time and the question that came to my mind was whether the ''Hussein'' was coming out of the ''Barrack Hussein Obama'' more than the ''Barrack'' itself was. Yet whatever anyone may feel about the issue of his touching his toes with his head and his bowing before the Saudi king, as far as I am concerned, President Obama is not what he appears to be. There is far more to him than meets the eye.

A couple more questions will suffice to illustrate this point. Why is it that each time Barrack Obama is about to submit himself for a Presidential election and seek a mandate from his people there is a raging, monuemental, earth-shattering and record-breaking freak of a storm which kills numerous people in America? It happened a few days before his Presidential election in 2008 and it is has just happened again a few days before his Presidential election in 2012. Again why is it that on the first day of the convention of the opposition Republican party, both in 2008 and again this year, yet another violent and dangerous killer storm hit the towns in which the two conventions were held causing them both to be partially disrupted? What is Obama's relationship with the elemental forces? What is his relationship with God or some lesser deity? What is his source of power and what is his spiritual foundation? There is no doubt that he is a powerful orator and that he delivers brilliant speeches that mesmerises his audience. Yet so did Adolf Hitler and we all know what he was.

I ask these questions because President Obama has supported every anti-christian and anti-faith policy that the American permissive state has thrown up and endorsed in recent years. The violation and literal denunciation of these religious core values, in my view, betrays the unfolding of an illicit,dark, sinister and subterranean anti-Christ agenda which must be rejected by all true men and women of faith. They must be renounced by every christian, every jew and every muslim and indeed all those that truly espouse the noble values and virtues of any of the three Abrahamic faiths. They must be rejected by all those that believe in the supremacy and efficacy of a monotheic God whose core values and holistic principles and standards are worthy of emulation and of being respected and cherished. There are many examples of these gross violations of our core religious values but permit me to share just four of them with you here.

Firstly, President Obama has endorsed a woman's right to have an abortion and he has publically denounced ''the right to life'' of unborn babies. Secondly, he has endorsed same-sex marriages. Thirdly, he has consistently supported homosexuality and the rights of homosexuals and lesbians. And fourthly, and perhaps the most disturbing of all, he has endorsed the right of same-sex couples to adopt and raise children. Quite apart from these four Obama has also endorsed all manner of social perversions and deviant behaviour in the name of humanism, ''new age'' liberalism and the permissive American state. No true believer or person of faith can possibly accept such practices, endorse such values and still stand right before God. To put the icing on the cake let me make one more point. Rev. Jene Robinson, a vocal and practising gay, whose ordination as a Bishop split the Anglican Church in America into two, was specially selected by Obama to deliver the invocation of the name of God and prayers at the beginning of the inaugral weekend of his inaugration ceremony as President in 2008. What message was Obama trying to send to America and to the world by insisting on this?


Outside of the area of social and religious values President Obama has also failed in the area of foreign and domestic policy. A few examples will suffice. The unprecedented number of drone attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan which has led to record highs in the number of deaths of innocent muslim civilians, women and children in both countries. The alienation of Pakistan and Afghanistan as key allies in the war against terror. The destabilisation of north Africa and the opening of the door for islamist insurgents in the north African Arab Sahel states and the west African sub-region.

The display of weakness and procrastination before Iran and it's covert agenda to build a nuclear bomb. The display of double standards in the State of Bahrain and the over-pampering of the Arab Gulf states. The sheer mess that has been created in Syria and the indecision and procrastination of the Obama administration who have abandoned the opposition forces in that country even as thousands of innocent people are being slaughtered by Assad's brutal regime.The insincerity of purpose and sheer coldness being displayed towards Israel and the indifference to her dangerous and existential plight. The disdain and contempt shown to all people of faith, the evangelical movement, the christian far-right and the vision of the old Pilgrim Fathers that founded the great country that is known as the United States of America.


The removal of the words "God" and "Israel" from the Democratic Party Convention. The disasterous handling of the American economy that has acquired a five trillion dollar deficit in the last four years. The rise of islamic fundamentalism in Mali and Nigeria due to a shortsighted and reckless policy in Libya. The taking of power by the fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and the rise in power of Al Shabbad in Somalia and East Africa. The inexplicable refusal to declare Boko Haram (the islamist terror group that is bombing and killing thousands in northern Nigeria) as a terrorist organisation.

The gradual turning of America into a quasi- welfarist state where ''big government'' reigns and in which the traditional engine room of growth that is known as the American middle class is being systematically weakened and destroyed. The desecration of the traditional family unit and good old fashioned christian values by the adoption of strange and liberal "new age'' practices, values and philosophies. The inability to protect the lives of American diplomats living abroad and the lack of firm reprisals after the killing of the American Ambassador and other Americans by terrorists in Libya. The massive foreign debt that America has acquired in the last four years. The huge quantum of cash that America is is now owing China and so on and so forth.


These are just some of Obama's disastarous legacies and sadly the mistakes he has made in his foreign policy in north Africa particularly impacts on us directly in Nigeria and in west Africa. Let me give you just one example of that. Had it not been for the fall-out of the mess in Libya and the brutal way in which Muammar Ghadaffi, the Libyan leader, was murdered in cold blood one year ago, his Taureg friends and allies in north Africa would not have been inspired and driven to take over northern Mali and create a Taliban-style islamic fundamentalist state there and northern Nigeria would not have been flooded with jihadist footsoldiers and all manner of sophisticated arms and bombing devices for usage by Boko Haram.


With Obama all we see and hear are beautiful and inspirational speeches, a good deal of doublespeak, a failed economic policy and a weak, dangerous and thoroughly uninspiring foreign policy. Worst still all we see in Obama's African policy is unpredictability, chaos, the appeasement of terrorists and utter confusion. Given this I cannot come to any other conclusion than the fact that President Barrack Hussein Obama cannot be trusted with America or indeed the world for the next four years. In my view he is a very mysterious, strange and complex man and sadly he has proved to be a thoroughly disappointing President.

Consequently my prayer is that Governor Mitt Romney defeats him in the Presidential election which will hold in a few days time. If he does not I fear that the much predicted "beginning of the end" of America as a world economic power may have just begun. With China on the rise, Russia waxing strong, Brazil, India and Japan flexing their muscles and the European Union finally beginning to take shape and find her feet, in the next twenty years the world will be a very different place and America may no longer be "prima inter pares" (the first amongst equals). Only Romney can stop that downward trend. I am aware of the fact that, given Obama's ancestry, this may not be a popular position to take amongst those of us that are people of colour and that are Africans but nevertheless it is still my position. I may be wrong but at least I have provided some food for thought. God bless America.

A Houseboy Of 20 Years Old Defiles Employer’s 6 years Old Daughter: A 20-year old houseboy working for the family of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dopemu at their residence in Surulere, Lagos has defiled his emloyers’ six-year-old daughter.

The houseboy, Obong Thompson reports say allegedly grabbed his boss’ six-year old daughter (name withheld) pulled off her clothes and had carnal knowledge of her while his bosses were at work.

According to reports, when Mr. and Mrs. Dopemu returned from work, they noticed their daughter’s unusual mood. They later discovered blood in her private part and quickly reported the matter to the police at Bode Thomas Divisional Headquarters. Thompson was arrested and investigated.

In his confessional statement, the suspect allegedly wrote: “When both of us were at home alone, I saw her body naked. I was charged and emotionally carried away.”

He was arraigned before a family court sitting at Tinubu, Lagos Island.

The court ordered that Thompson be remanded at Kirikiri prisons, Apapa, Lagos till the next hearing of the case on November 14.

33 Years Old Man Bathes Wife With Acid For Ending Their Marriage: A jilted husband identified as Okoye Gabriel has been arrested by the police at Ikotun Division in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, for allegedly pouring a substance believed to be raw acid on his wife, Charity.
She was severely burnt and sustained injuries on her body.

The 33-year old Enugu State-born man unleashed his anger on his wife for allegedly dumping him.

Gabriel is currently being detained at the police cell at Ikotun, while his enstranged wife, Charity was rushed to Lagos State University Teaching Hospiral, LASUTH, Ikeja, Lagos where doctors are battling to save her life.

The incident happened at the popular Governor Road in Ikotun, Lagos.

P.M.NEWS gathered that Gabriel did the introduction to marry Charity at her family’s home about four years ago at Enugu State and had not concluded her traditional marriage rites before he brought her to Lagos.

They lived together as husband and wife and had one kid.

Trouble started last year between the couple over suspicion by Gabriel that Charity had another lover. She denied the allegation on several occasions, but her husband did not believe her. At a time, she complained to her friends that she was tired of his accusation and decided to quit the marriage.

She reportedly told her husband that since he does not trust her, there was no need to remain in the relationship.

She took their only kid to their village and returned to Lagos to live separately. Later this year, Gabriel discovered that she had returned to Lagos. He traced her to Ikotun where he begged her to come back.

She refused and told him that the relationship was over. When it was obvious that he could not persuade her to come back, he got the substance, poured it on her face and other parts of her body and fled.

The police started a manhunt for him and eventually arrested him. Sources at the station confirmed the incident and told our correspondent that he will soon be charged to court.

When P.M.NEWS visited the station, the Divisional Police Officers (DPO) CSP Akika was not around to comment on the matter. Other sources confirmed the incident and told our correspondent that he will soon be charged to court.

Man Of 32 Kills Grandmother For Nagging Him In Ibadan: Olalonpe Ganiyu, until her death a couple of weeks ago, loved her relations to a fault. Blessed with several children, Olanlope, said to be close to a hundred years before her untimely death, showed great love and affection for her kin.

When one of her daughters died in early 2012, the elderly woman immediately took all the late daughter’s children into her custody. Olanlope lived at Yemetu in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Among the children Olanlope took into custody and caring for is 32-Year-Old Tajudeen Adekunle. But ever since Adekunle and his siblings had been living with their grandmother, the elderly woman and her grandson were said to have been dealing with each other like cat and dog. The no love lost relationship between grandmother and grandson came to a head recently when Adekunle allegedly hacked the old woman to death.

Evening of Sunday, October 15, 2012, Adekunle’s grandmother advised him to have a haircut as she was said not to be favourably disposed to his hair style. This had actually been a source of disagreement between them before that day.

The next day, Monday, October 16, 2012, when the old woman realised that Adekunle was not ready to do her billing, she reportedly refused to prepare the man’s dinner that day. This did not go down well with Adekunle who reportedly refused to change his ‘crazy’ hairstyle as claimed by the grandmother.

Both grandmother and grandson soon reportedly began to exchange abusive words.

When Adekunle realized that his grandmother was not backing down on her demands and insisting that he would not eat any food in the house that night if he failed to do what she wanted, he quickly dashed inside his room and came out with a cutlass, threatening the old woman with it.

But one elderly peacemaker, Busari Ogundeji, said to be a neighbour of the feuding family who could not pretend not to have heard the altercation between grandmother and grandson came around the house to intervene. When he got to Olanlope’s house, Ogundeji reportedly met Adekunle holding a cutlass and he reportedly joined Adekunle’s grandmother rebuking the enraged man.

Ogundeji was reported to have threatened that should Adekunle refuse to drop the cutlass and do what his grandmother ordered him to do; he would make him sweat by any means. At this point, Adekunle’s anger rose and he wasted no time in striking Ogundeji with the cutlass.

The cutlass reportedly inflicted deep cut on Ogundeji’s body and the elderly man slumped and laid in his own blood. When Olanlope saw what her grandson just did to a neighbour that had joined her to discipline him, the old woman made a dash for the door.

But Adekunle was faster. The hand holding the machete descended again but this time on his grandmother’s neck. The centenarian, like her male neighbour peace maker, also went down.

The two elderly citizens did not make it to the hospital before they joined their ancestors. Their corpses were later deposited at the Adeoyo General Hospital mortuary. Though it was reported that Adekunle upon realising what he had done made no efforts to flee the scene, he still held tight to the cutlass daring anyone who would confront him.

Adekunle was arrested. He was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, where he is being currently detained.

Adekunle managed to speak with reporters about his action:

According to him, he acted in self defense, saying that the threat not to give him dinner made him behaved the way he did. “I severally warned Mama to leave my hair alone but she refused to listen to me. What I did was the best solution to her problem.

The cutlass I used was the one we used to cut tree. It was kept inside the house. I hit her with the cutlass just to let me be. I did not know she would die. I just hit her with it to stop worrying me about my hair”, Adekunle said with no sense of remorse.

Acting Police Public Relations Officer of Oyo State Command, Joseph Oboyi, confirmed Adekunle’s arrest over the death of his grandmother and the man who came to make peace. Oboyi claimed that the accused would soon be prosecuted upon completion of investigations into the dastardly act.

My Husband Is Having Low Sperm Count Wife Tells Court: Many people have marriage problems, but how you handle yours is what makes the difference. A 35-year-old petty trader, Ajinatu Samuel, has asked the Agege Customary Court, Lagos, to dissolve her nine-year old union with her husband, Akinsola.
The couple had an engagement ceremony and their union yielded a son. Ajinatu told the court that her husband did not take care of her and he frequently beat her. She said whenever she got beat up, he would later come to beg her and claim that he did not know when he started beating her.

The trader said that her husband shunned his responsibility as the head of the family by not taking care of their child. She said she could not keep money in the house or her shop because Akinsola would steal it.

She accused her husband of excessive drinking and said she did not love him anymore. She narrated to the court how it took them a while before she conceived the pregnancy for their child.

She claimed her husband had a low sperm count and it took a lot of medical intervention before she could conceive. “The doctor told him that he had to take care of himself and come for treatment if he wanted us to conceive again, but he does not take care of himself,” Ajinatu said.

The mother of one told the court that she had bought her husband drugs, but she was not sure he took them.

However, 38-year-old Akinsola told the court that while he was wooing his wife, they never had the low sperm count problem. He told the court that he did not want to divorce his wife because she “knows me in-and-out.”

He acknowledged that he was unemployed and that it was true his brother was still in business but his goods perished last year. He said he trusted Ajinatu enough to introduce her to the business so that she could fend for the family while he searched for a job.

He told the court that his wife hadn’t said the real reason she wanted to quit the marriage, adding that he had gone to his wife’s village in order to settle their problem. “Her people settled everything but she was unhappy because my mother was not present at the meeting. She was away in Kaduna,” he said.

He told the court to grant him custody of the child if she insist on leaving him.

The court advised him to gather some money to start a business and stop lazing around. The court said that he was sending a wrong signal to his child with his attitude. The court president, Emmanuel Shokunle, adjourned the case till Nov. 28, 2012 for judgement.

Man caught Exhuming Corpse From Grave-Yard In Ogun State: Exhuming corpse to make money is increasingly becoming a trade in Ogun State and other parts of the country.

However, the Police had insisted that the illicit trade won’t subsist with the arrest of one Olorunwa Jimoh who is currently cooling his feet in police net for the same offence. Jimoh confessed that his business albeit illegitimate is to search for graveyards from which he exhumes corpses in Ago-Iwoye.

It was gathered that one Otunba Adekoya, a resident of Adekoya Street in the town, caught him in the act in his neighborhood, after which he raised alarm, leading to his arrest and detention at the Ago-Iwoye Divisional Police Headquarters.

The unusual confidence which Jimoh exuded in the presence of policemen painted a picture of an unrepentant man. He even justified his act as a means to survive what he called the hard time.

“What everybody is looking for is what to do to eat. This is my own means of making money to feed myself. Abore is the one who buys any part I take to him,” he said defiantly.

The Police have since commenced a search for Abore who is said to have fled Ago-Iwoye soon after the news of Jimoh’s arrest broke.

The Police, however, have decided to keep a sealed lips on the update regarding the search. “We cannot tell you how far we have gone so that it won’t affect our job. But I can assure you that he would be fished out to confirm or deny the allegation,” Muyiwa Adejobi, Ogun State PPRO said.

An Electrician To Die By Hanging For Allegedly Killing His Client In Lagos: A 31-year-old electrician, Abdulkadiri Issa, was on Wednesday sentenced to death by hanging at a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja for the murder of Mrs. Catherine Kate-Amadi in Ebute-Meta, Lagos. Issa was condemned to death for stabbing Kate-Amadi with a kitchen knife in her residence where he had been invited to repair some electrical faults sometime in 2006.

After the gory incident, Issa was said to have locked himself up with the corpse of the deceased in the house where policemen said they found him hiding in the toilet. However, his counsel, Mr. Yemi Omodele, had urged the court to discharge and acquit his client, on the ground that the prosecuting counsels led by A.O Bajulaye, has no strong evidence against him.

According to the accused, in his testimony, he often went to the deceased’s flat to help her with electrical repairs but that fateful day he went there as usual but was slapped to unconsciousness by one of the two men sitting with the deceased as at the time of his visit. When he regained consciousness he found people in the house surrounding the deceased in the pool of her blood.

The prosecuting party, however claimed that the Consultant Pathologist and Chief Medical Examiner of theLagos State University Teaching Hospital, Prof. John Obafunwa, was unable to give evidence in the case due to his appointment as “Vice-Chancellor and other administrative issues.” The presiding Justice, Iyabo Kasali, relying on circumstantial evidence presented by the prosecuting counsel, found Issa guilty as charged.

Although the lawyer of the accused maintained it wasn’t fair to convict an accused person simply because he was found at the scene of a crime. Arguing that “it is unheard” that a murderer would intentionally lock himself up in the same room with his victim. He also said the evidence of the first and second prosecution witnesses, PW1, Chief T.I Enyinma, the deceased’s cousin; and PW2, Charles Osuagwu, the deceased’s brother-in-law, was only based on hearsay and not firsthand witnesses.

In the last few months I've noticed him touching himself, rubbing himself against anything he can find, and doing things that I'm too ashamed to type here even though I am anonymous.

He is touching his younger sister in ways that are not brotherly. He's fixated with breasts and grabs any he sees. He also forcefully tries to kiss people, both male and female. I've smacked him several times but it hasn't stopped the behaviour.

Just last week, his teacher told me he was caught kissing a classmate. I understand children are curious but I have no idea where he learnt all these. He has never seen that kind of behaviour in my house. I monitor what he watches on TV and I have never allowed him on the internet.

My husband thinks he should be punished for his behaviour but what kind of punishment? Should I lock him up in his room till he's grown? I am a mother who is so ashamed of her own child. I'm afraid to take him out so he doesn't start harassing other people's children.

Please Help Me: I’m Pregnant For My Pastor, Should I Keep It Or Get Rid Of It?: I don’t need to hide my identity anymore, as my church members and others are already aware of this development. I am based in the United Kingdom and a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God here in the UK.

I am a 24-year-old Nigerian girl. I have lived in the UK for over five years, running into my 6th year already. However, as it is generally held, “life is not always smooth and straight” I understand that life, most of the time is full of ‘zig and zag’ just like it’s characterized with ups and downs. My story is not different after all. I have had my good times too, and I consider this time as my most trying moment.

I am writing this note, not exactly because I regret my action of taking full control of a married Pastor, but because I have sensed something that is really not going to work for me in the most positive way, if I keep this pregnancy. I don’t regret my action because I understand that pastors too are human beings, and have the same feelings like the rest of us. He slept with me, got me impregnated; so what?

However, a little of the background will give you an insight into how it all started. I understand that as human beings, we cannot cheat nature. I’m one of the Choristers in the church, and there is this magnet that pulls the pastor and I together. It is like a magnetic force. However, he had explained to me in the most pathetic way one day on how the wife had starved him of sex for months all in the name of spirituality. He only said that passively anyway. He also complained bitterly, while I listened with superlative attention on how the wife hardly ever satisfy him on bed. I actually wanted to satisfy him, as I’m such an emotional and considerate person. I am very sure God won’t judge me negatively because of my kind gesture. I only tried to satisfy a man who was dying of hunger, he was been starved of sex and I had to leave spirituality behind to get him satisfied.

I remember how it all started, and like a Hollywood movie, the scenes reeled from one to the other and we had our fun in different hotels after every church meeting. I must always wait for the Pastor who will convey me to my house. After all, he is a pastor, and no one would suspect that any ‘dirty’ romance was going on between us. He confessed that I had made him feel like a woman, and I was just proud of myself. I will always node in exhilaration knowing very well that if I can satisfy another man, then I can satisfy my man. This is something every young lady should be proud of. I am not trying to patronize my action, but only being reasonable about some sensitive sexual matters.

Yes, we did, and since then, I have been excommunicated from the church. In fact, the whole thing remained secret until he got me impregnated, and I confronted him for an abortion. To my consternation, he refuted my suggestion; he wanted me to keep the baby. I had moved against it. I had given him reasons why I shouldn’t keep the baby. I don’t want to jeopardize my dream of getting married at the age of 26 which is just less than a year. I told him that I must get rid of the baby. But he has vowed to sue me if I do. He is happy that at least what he had waited for endlessly since he got married in 2000 has come to fruition as God has finally opened the doors through me. Yes, he never had a child since he got married, and age is really not on his side. I can’t get his words off my head; “ I want this baby like yesterday” he said.

This disagreement has put me in the public glare today as my close friends whom I divulged the situation to, had reported the matter to the church committee, and I have since been excommunicated. Everybody talks about me as if I have done something so strange. My concern really is not about what people are saying but to get a little piece of your advice on whether I should keep the baby against my wish, or go for an abortion. I know what I want but I still need your advice in order to justify the action I’m about to take. In the next five days, I should be able to take a major decision. Thank you for publishing my story.

Police-Post Set On Fire Over Killing Of Okada Rider

Police-Post Set On Fire Over Killing Of Okada Rider: Aggrieved commercial motorcyclists popularly called Okada and some residents of Kuola community in Apata area of Ibadan Wednesday, set ablaze the police post in the area over the alleged killing of a commercial motorcyclist by some policemen on illegal check point duties.

The deceased, who is popularly called Akebaje, eyewitness account disclosed, allegedly slumped when a Police Inspector hit him with a baton on the head for allegedly violating traffic law because of his refusal to part with N20.

The source added that rather than take the injured commercial motorcyclist to the hospital for medical attention, the police sergeant assisted by his two policemen dragged him into a waiting police van in his pool of blood to Koola Police Station.

He was said to have died eventually, thereby sparking off protest from his colleagues, who felt embittered by the police action.

It was learnt that the commercial motorcyclist was found to have carried two passengers against the new traffic law in state and upon sighting the police, he was said to have tactfully asked one of the passengers to disembark.

But unknown to him, the Police Inspector in a patrol van with other policemen had sighted him.

According to an eyewitness account, Akebaje was hit with a baton on his head, when attempting to escape punishment.

The protesters, who learnt of Akebaje’s death formed themselves into a mob and joined by other sympathisers among the residents attacked any regular policeman in uniform and traffic warders who fled on sight.

The violence later spread to the police station, where scores of youths had stormed the station and set the police post ablaze, while policemen on duty ran for safety.

One of the community leaders, Ayodele Olowoyile, confirmed that the community mandated the police not to allow commercial motorcyclist access into the community due to their reckless driving and because of the frequent robbery operations.

Most parts of Apata area of Ibadan were deserted when about 20 police pick up vans started arriving the troubled spot to arrest people indiscriminate.

The Acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ayodele Lanade, who confirmed the incident explained that a commercial motorcyclist was stopped by a team of policemen on a stop-and-search duty but turned back ostensibly to avoid been searched.

Suspect In Cynthia Osokogu’s Murder Seeks N50 Million Damages: One of the seven suspects in the death of Cynthia Osokogu, murdered in cold blood in her hotel room in Lagos, has brought a N50 million suit against the Nigeria Police for damages.

Gideon Okechukwu, who allegedly drove the killers to the hotel, also joined the Attorney-General of the Federation in the suit in which he said that the fee would cover “general and aggravated damages.”

Mr. Okechukwu, 39, also demanded a public apology to be published by the respondents in a “conspicuous portion” of a national newspaper.

On Monday, all the suspects in the murder case were brought to the Yaba Magistrate Court where the advice of the Directorate of Public Prosecution was to be read.

However, the court observing its annual leave meant they had to be returned to the Kirikiri Prisons until November 27, the date fixed for the court to sit.

The police had said in its investigations that Mr. Okechukwu, an unregistered cab driver, drove Okwumo Nwabufor, a prime suspect in the murder case, and Ms. Osokogu to Cosmilla Hotel in Festac where the latter was strangled to death.

The police also stated that Mr. Okechukwu usually drove Mr. Nwabufo during his numerous operations and also aids him in escaping from crime scenes.

In the suit, deposed at the Lagos High Court, Greg Anumenechi, counsel to the suspect, denied all the claims, adding that his client has been in police detention since August 20 without being charged to court. Mr. Anumenechi also stated that the forceful seizure of his client’s Mazda 626 car is unlawful and a violation of his right.

80% Of Prostitutes In Ogun State Are University Undergraduates : A university don, Prof. Elizabeth Balogun, on Wednesday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, expressed her concern over the prevalence of prostitution among female undergraduates in the country.
Balogun said the sex trade had become rampant on Nigerian campuses to such an extent that 80 percent of prostitutes that patronize night clubs, hotels and tourist centres in Ogun State are students of tertiary institutions.

Prof. Balogun,a Biochemistry lecturer at the University of Ilorin, said this at a seminar organised by the National Association of Nigerian Students to mark its 31st anniversary where she delivered a lecture titled “Prostitution on our campuses: Effects and solutions.” Click to continue reading.


The guest speaker, who expressed regret said, “It is absurd to the level that young undergraduate lady would leave normal academic chores of attending lectures and visiting libraries for further studies during the day, only to metamorphose in the evening into a call-girl or pimp.

“There is no doubt that prostitution in the long run corrupts the quality of the nation’s future leaders and affects their values. Understanding that
young females constitute appreciable percentage of the nation’s population, little could be expected from them productively if they had been turned into cheap sexual machines, with warped self-esteem and self- actualisation.

“Inordinate desire for affluence and desperation by many Nigerians, especially ladies lure them to engage in immoral and illicit activities, despite high level of religiousness which Nigerians overtly demonstrate. Even the present scourge of HIV/AIDS and the menace of ritual killers that find easy prey among prostitutes, have not been strong enough to curb the rising trend of the practice.”

She urged the government to improve funding on education in order to drastically reduce cost of attaining higher education which will curb the rising trend of the practice.

Chris Okotie Runaway Ex-Girlfriends Battle For Vacant 'Mrs Okotie' Title: That the founder and the General Overseer of the Household of God Church, Pastor Chris Okotie packed it up with his second wife Stephanie Henshaw is no more news, just like the fact that a lot of people were caught unawares by his declaration that he was going to marry for the third time this December.

However, the announcement a couple of weeks back that the funky pastor will be getting married soon stirred some activities around his Oregun Lagos church, as some female members whose hopes were dashed when he decided to marry Stephanie four years back are currently jostling at the background to fill vacant the position of “Mrs Okotie.”

Some of the ladies who are strongly rumoured to be on this list and whom the man of God has played a prominent role in their lives include, Sola Salako, who was the church’s head of administration for several years, and Okotie’s close aide, Vien Tetsola, a former Miss Nigeria, Ure Okezie, daughter of former minister, Dr. Okezie, who later dated hip-hop artiste Soul E, but who has since moved on, and Rose Elishama Ideh, who became a frequent visitor at many of Okotie’s church events, and who played a major role in his last presidential campaign.

All of these women quit the church in the heat of union then hoping that Okotie would one day wake up from the spell of the Calabar beauty, and their prayers were answered in June this year.

The argument of the women against the choice of Stephanie was that Pastor Chris had been the family pastor during her two marriages and Stephanie’s second husband was his oldest church member. The story now is that since the pastor who was the presidential candidate of his Fresh Party is free from his marriage and has signified his intention to remarry, there is need to return as the race for the role of Mrs. Okotie is open.

First to signify her intention is Ure Okezie popularly known as Queen Ure. When Okotie’s rejection pushed her into the arms of younger Soul E whom she dated for about four years before Soul E walked out of the relationship, she recently returned to the fold of the pastor that his known for his excessive grammatical expression laden sermon. When questioned about Christ Vila, the church she co-owned with her ex-lover, she replied that she has returned to Pastor Chris Okotie’s Household of God Church and that she now worships there, raising questions as to why she chose to return to the church immediately after the break-up between the pastor and Stephanie.

Sources close to the church also revealed that it is a matter time before others like Vien Tetsola, and the rest return as the office of the wife of the pastor has now suddenly become vacant since most of the women in question are still single with the exception of the Roli Adeniyi who has since become married to the former vice-chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South-west, Chief Olabode George.

JusticeForAluu4: University Of Port Harcourt Reopens: Authorities of the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, southsouth Nigeria, have announced the re-opening of the institution for academic activities.

The institution was shut last month in the wake of violent protest over the murder of four students by a mob in Aluu community.

A statement signed by the Deputy Registrar of the University, Williams Wodi said the decision to re-open the school was reached after an emergency meeting held by the University Senate on Wednesday.

The statement urged all students to return to the campus before weekend as normal lectures would begin on Monday, 12 November.

It assured that peace has returned to the university’s neighborhood especially Omuokiri-Aluu where the four male students of the institution were lynched last month.

The statement further said that the Vice Chancellor of Uniport, Professor Joseph Ajienka has met with the landlords in Aluu who have guaranteed the safety of the students and staff living in the community.
